The “rest” IS the “work”

This summer I was close to burn out. I was stuck, frustrated, and out of ideas.

I felt like I just wanted to crawl into bed and never come out.

I was tired. I needed to rest my body but more importantly I needed to rest my BRAIN!!

So I did.

I took a BIG step back, I put some projects on hold, I hung out with my son, I went hiking, I slept in, and I was lazy in the best way.

When summer ended I was so refreshed and had so many good ideas rolling around about how to move forward.

If you feel overwhelmed or stuck I totally recommend you try it out. Even if it’s just for a few moments each week.

Find a way to unplug your brain?

Here are a few ways that have worked for me:

  • Sleep in
  • Go get my toes painted
  • Watch a funny movie or show
  • Take a day trip
  • Go for a walk
  • Take a long luxurious bath

The list goes on.

What is a way that would work for you to unplug? Really come up with an answer in your mind right now.
